Spiritual Ministry

In everything we do, we strive to offer care that is holistic, considering the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of the child and their families. To that end, we have chaplains or Christian social workers in three of our six partner hospitals, and all of our staff recognize the important role they play in investing in the lives and hearts of their patients.

Our surgical training program includes spiritual mentorship under the Pan African Academy of Christian Surgeons (PAACS), and because of this support they are better equipped to provide hope and holistic care from a heart of love.

One good example of how the spiritual component has been integrated is in Kenya where we have developed a ‘disciplers network’ of some 400 women who make it their mission to seek out and help children who are hidden in their homes and their parents who, in the face of extreme poverty and lack of knowledge about disabilities, have nowhere to turn for help. The disciplers primary goal is to share God’s love with all they meet.
