Every year BethanyKids transforms lives across Africa through our pediatric surgery and rehabilitation services for children. Since 2004, with generous support from our donors, we have provided over 37,000 surgeries to impoverished children in need.
However, thousands of other children need our support now. After significant demand, we plan to expand our services into Uganda in 2022.

About Billy
Billy was born with spina bifida and knows firsthand what it means to live with a disability. He attended Joytown School before BethanyKids started providing an extensive pediatric rehabilitation program there. His experience growing up was not easy, with more surgeries before his first birthday than most of us have in a lifetime. Yet with the help of BethanyKids, Billy has been able to get access to those surgeries as well as the medical assistance he requires to stay healthy.
Seven years ago Billy started working for BethanyKids as a full-time employee and has described it as a true privilege. His medical needs can be taken care of and he is also able to help families during some of their most difficult days.
For him, it’s one way to give back to others. Billy is just one of the tens of thousands of patients we have cared for and he has used that investment to make the world better for those around him. What is the FUTURE FUND?

What is the Phase 1 goal?
Phase 1: Our initial goal is to create a FUTURE FUND (a yield-earning crypto portfolio) to cover all administrative costs strictly from the rewards. Currently these administrative costs are under 10% of our global operating budget, however we want to reduce this to zero. This would allow 100% of all future donations, both in crypto and in USD, to go directly to our surgical and rehabilitation projects across 7 African nations.
What is the Phase 2 goal?
Phase 2: In the future, as the FUTURE FUND value grows, we plan to cover the expansion of future programs and services from our weekly rewards to showcase a more sustainable model of international aid that is effective, efficient, and transparent.

How to donate?
For donors in the United States, the IRS has classified crypto as property for tax purposes. This means that when someone donates $CEL and other cryptocurrencies to a 501(c)(3) nonprofit like BethanyKids, donors do not have to pay capital gains tax and it is tax-deductible if you provide your email address. We are currently building an automated process for donations of $CEL due to lack of custodian support with the GivingBlock system. Until then, please use our form to provide your name, address, and donation value. This is necessary information to process your IRS tax deductible receipt. If you are not a resident of the USA, we can still receive donations but are unable to issue a tax receipt. At this time, tax-receipts are valid for US citizens only.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
The simple answer is YES—in most cases. Our team will prepare tax receipts for any donor who provides an email address. If you donate anonymously, we will not be able to provide you with a tax receipt.
More specifically, all crypto donations are made to our US-registered charity. BethanyKids is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization in the USA and donors are able to take tax deductions for donations to the extent permitted by law. Donors based outside the USA should consult with a qualified advisor regarding the tax or equivalent rules covering deductibility in their applicable non-US jurisdiction.
Please consult with your tax advisor to determine whether your donation is tax-deductible in whole or in part. Nothing in this communication is intended to constitute legal or tax advice.

When do I get my tax-receipt?
Once you donation is confirmed in our corporate Celsius account, we will email you to provide the tax-receipt. You will also be able to access and download your tax-receipt from our donor portal

Will my donation be converted to fiat in 2025?
Ideally, no. We intend to ensure all $CEL donated to the FUTURE FUND will earn yield long-term. Our goal is to convert rewards earned to fiat to expand our services and increase our capacity to serve more children.
Why are you holding my donation until at least January 1, 2025?
We hope that your donation will appreciate in value over time and help us support even more children. By earning & compounding yield, we expect to build our portfolio to multiply the impact of your donation. We chose 2025 to allow for a full crypto cycle to pass and allow time for your donation to maximize in value.
