Director of Programs in Kenya

“Most of the people who come to BethanyKids asking for help are…grasping for anything that resembles help, hoping against hope. I am happy that when they get to BethanyKids they find help; they find hope. And for those who are willing, they find the message that their ultimate need was met by Christ on the cross.”

– David Ng’ang’a, Director of Programs in Kenya

We are excited to announce the creation of a new position for BethanyKids. The Director of Programs in Kenya will be responsible for overseeing and strengthening our programs and processes in Kenya, which include our surgical program at BKCC (BethanyKids Childrens’ Centre) in Kijabe, our mobile clinic team, which travels to sites all across Kenya, and our rehabilitation team, which serves at Joytown School for Children with Physical Disabilities in Thika. Having this position in place will provide greater support for these teams and stronger cohesion across all of our work in Kenya.

We’re happy to have David Ng’ang’a move into this position from his previous role as Associate Director for Africa. David has been with us for over 10 years now, in varying roles, and truly has a passion for ministering to children and their families. When asked about our ministry, David shares: “Most of the people who come to BethanyKids asking for help are in difficult dark depressing situations grasping for anything that resembles help, hoping against hope. I am happy that when they get to BethanyKids they find help; they find hope. And for those who are willing, they find the message that their ultimate need was met by Christ on the cross.”

David’s goal for this position is to improve our processes and, by encouragement and support, build up team spirit and enable our teams to do the best work they can. His desire in this is that our teams in Kenya will “never miss any opportunities to serve the people that God brings to us.”

David has a Bachelor of Commerce degree and is currently finishing his MBA in Strategic Management at Daystar University. He is married to Ruth, who is a full-time mom to their 8 month old daughter, Mercy.
